Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that promotes relaxation, balance, and overall well-being. Originating in Japan, Reiki works with the body’s natural energy system to help clear energetic blockages, calm the nervous system, and support the body’s innate healing ability.
Many people experience Reiki as deeply calming and restorative, often leaving sessions feeling lighter, more grounded, emotionally clear, and at ease.
What can I expect during a session?
Sessions take place in a peaceful, supportive environment and are fully customized to your individual needs that day.
Clients remain fully clothed and relax comfortably on a massage table throughout the session. Reiki involves a combination of gentle hands-on placement and hands hovering just above or around the body’s energy field. Sessions may also incorporate crystals, essential oils, tuning forks, Earth Drum, and other sound healing elements to support deeper relaxation and energetic balance.
Most people experience a profound sense of calm and relaxation during a session. Some notice warmth, tingling, emotional release, or a meditative state, while others simply feel deeply rested and renewed.
Do I need to believe in energy healing for Reiki to work?
Not at all. Reiki is often experienced simply as deep relaxation and nervous system support. Many clients come to Reiki feeling curious, open-minded, stressed, overwhelmed, or simply seeking space to slow down and reconnect with themselves.
What is Animal Reiki?
Animal Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive form of energy healing designed specifically to support animals physically, emotionally, and energetically. Sessions are always guided by the comfort and willingness of the animal, allowing them to receive energy in a calm, safe, and respectful environment.
Animal Reiki may help support:
- Stress and anxiety reduction
- Separation anxiety and nervous system regulation
- Excessive barking or reactive behaviors rooted in stress or overstimulation
- Relaxation and emotional calming
- Recovery from illness, injury, or surgery
- Emotional transitions, trauma, or behavioral changes
- Adjusting to household changes such as a new baby, child, pet, move, or family transition
-
- Bonding, connection, and overall well-being
- Senior pets and aging support
- Hospice and end-of-life comfort care
- Creating comfort, peace, and support as an animal nears the end of life
Sessions are quiet, soothing, and led entirely at the animal’s pace. Many animals naturally relax, soften, or become curious and receptive during treatment.
In-home Animal Reiki sessions are available upon request. Contact The Sanctuary for more information and availability.
